Solid laptop, few shortcomings August 25, 2010

Let's get the bad out of the way first:
1. Lots of bloatware. Took about 30mins to remove it or stop it from beginning at startup
2. Fairly short battery-life. It will last about 4 to 5 hours
3. No discrete graphic (this is a pro for some, like myself, because lack of dedicated graphics improves battery life, but you will not be able to play 3D games and such)
4. No multi-touch track-pad
5. Fairly poor viewing angle, and fairly reflective screen
Now what makes this laptop good:
1. Build quality. It feels very solid, with ample use of aluminum. It feels like it can deal with a lot of abuse.
2. It looks awesome, and this computer is not a fingerprint magnet
3. Powerful for general purpose use.
4. Great keyboard, really top notch.
5. Robust built-in security.
6. Textured track-pad is easy to use and very precise.
7. Good screen quality.
8. Good speaker quality
9. Finger-print scanner. Makes loging-in that much easier, especially when you workplace requires long passwords.
10. Stays cool on the lap. Won't render you sterile.
Overall the two best aspects of this laptop are the build-quality and keyboard.
Final thoughts: Great laptop for small business or college. Great for any sort of office work, but not a multimedia center. It is fairly heavy, but weighs less than similarly built laptops (HP Elitebook, Dell Vostro). If you are looking for a laptop for entertainment, look elsewhere. If you need a laptop for mobile office that is durable and powerful, you have found it.
