 good, tips on battery maintain July 27, 2010

I have X61 Lenovo ThinkPad. The battery works well. I didn't know these steps about maintaining battery, but after a fluke of forgetting to lock the battery and the battery kept dying on me, I learned these from e-mailing the seller (they are very helpful and gives fast replies)...
1) when you receive it, immediately charge it fully 100%
2) fully discharge it (I discharged it until 5-10%)
3) repeat fully charge/discharge for 2-3 times.
4) "it is recommended that you should use the battery once every two weeks, and keep the battery in the system so that the AC adapter can keep the battery charged at all times. It is also recommended that if you don't use the battery for more than two weeks, you should completely discharge the battery and store it at room temperature"

Be careful. I bought this battery without realizing it is NOT compatible with the Tablet. Then AntOnline wouldn't accept the return since I opened the package. The product probably works great, but I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from the AntOnline customer service.

Purchased this from one of the secondary retailers instead of a generic battery because most of the reviews for the generic batteries sold on this site said that they didn't fit well or that they didn't last very long. The battery i bought ended up being approximately half the price of the same battery directly from Lenovo. When it arrived it was the exact model specified, Not a ripoff sold under the lenovo name.
I'd suggest that if you're going to buy a battery for you X60 or X61 that you buy this instead of the smaller version and that you go for one that's endorsed by lenovo.
